Max Verstappen won the Mexico City Grand Prix on Sunday, October 31st, 2023, to break his own record for most wins in a Formula 1 season with 16. The Red Bull driver started P3 and took the lead from polesitter Charles Leclerc on the opening lap. He then controlled the race from the front, despite a red flag period midway through caused by a heavy crash from Kevin Magnussen.
Verstappen's victory was also his third in a row at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, and his fourth overall in Mexico. He now needs just one more win to equal Michael Schumacher's record of 17 wins in a season.
Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc finished second and third respectively, with Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris rounding out the top five.
