Max Verstappen Breaks F1 Record with 10th Consecutive Win

3rd Sep 2023

Max Verstappen made history on Sunday, September 3, 2023, by winning the 2023 Italian Grand Prix for his 10th consecutive victory. This breaks the previous record of nine consecutive wins, set by Michael Schumacher in 2004.

Verstappen started the race from pole position and led from start to finish. He was never seriously challenged, and crossed the finish line 11.4 seconds ahead of Sergio Perez in second place. Carlos Sainz finished third.

The win is Verstappen's fifth of the season and extends his lead in the Drivers' Championship to 46 points. He is now the clear favorite to win the title this year.

Verstappen was understandably delighted with his achievement. "It's an incredible feeling," he said. "I'm so proud of the team. We've worked so hard this year, and it's paying off."

Perez was also happy with his second-place finish. "I'm really happy for the team," he said. "We've been working hard all weekend, and it's great to see the results paying off."

Sainz was disappointed not to be able to challenge for the win, but he was pleased with his third-place finish. "It's a good result for me," he said. "I'm happy with the progress we're making."

The 2023 Italian Grand Prix was a thrilling race, and Verstappen's victory was a fitting end to a memorable weekend. The next race on the calendar is the Singapore Grand Prix on September 17th. Verstappen will be looking to extend his winning streak and keep his title hopes alive.
